About Us

Why have annual eye exams?

Your eyes are an integral part of your life. Factors ranging from workplace environment, systemic diseases, heredity, prescription drugs, surgical procedures and contact lens wear can affect your eyesight.

Besides being able to treat eyestrain and prescribe glasses or contacts, your optometrist can recognize signs of serious diseases or conditions before noticeable symptoms appear. Your optometrist, using sophisticated imaging and diagnostic equipment, can detect many conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, high blood pressure, diabetes, tumor, multiple sclerosis, stroke and high cholesterol. Continuity of care and prevention of eye disease are very important to us in this practice.

Your yearly eye exam is essential to the health of your eyes. The office team feels strongly that children should be tested beginning at age two and have a full eye examination by age three and yearly hereafter to help detect and treat amblyopia (lazy eye), double vision, nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Please speak to us for information and OHIP and insurance coverage.
