The chart below shows the six possible varieties of congenital (inherited) color-blindness. The six varieties of color-blindness can be grouped into two main catagories:
- Total color-blindness which is very rare; and
- Red-green color-blindness.
As illustrated by the chart total color-blindness occurs in two forms:
- complete; and
- incomplete.
and red-green color-blindness occurs in four forms;
- red-blindness complete;
- red-blindness incomplete;
- green-blindness complete; and
- green-blindness incomplete.
